The largest glacier in the world is Lambert glacier which is located in East Antarctica. The glacier is about 60 miles (100 km) wide, 250 miles (400 km) long and about 2,500 meters deep.

Lambert glacier flows northwards toward the Amery Ice Shelf. The glacier was delineated by the American geographer, John H. Roscoe in the year 1952.

Most of the studies of the Lambert glacier are done with remote sensing due to the harsh conditions in the region. Only about 2 tourist ship sail to this area in a year due to the harsh weather condition.
