It is the Celts that started to carve different faces to their vegetables. One of the vegetables that people use most of all is the pumpkin. The pumpkin is known to be big and it can be carved into different expressions. It is very likely that you will appreciate this a lot. This started out about 100 years ago in Ireland and this is still being done in different parts of the world.

There are even some contests wherein people can unleash their creativity. The most creative Jack-O-Lantern will win some prizes. The carving of the pumpkin and other vegetables are done in order to get rid of evil spirits that may be going around the area according to their belief.
