UY Scuti is the largest known star. This star was discovered by German astronomers in 1860. Yet it was in 2012 that the actual size of UY Scuti was documented. It's radius is between 1,054,378,000 and 1,321,450,000 miles in size. It is about 1,700 times larger than the sun and is said to have the largest overall size.
Even through the star is very large, you can not easily spot the star in the night sky without a telescope. This star is located in the Scutum constellation and comes under the classification of hypergiant which is after supergiant and giant. This location is determined by the Right Ascension (R.A.) and Declination (Dec.), which is the same as the Longitude and Latitude on the Earth.
The Right Ascension is expressed in time along the celestial equator and if it is positive, it is then east ward. The Declination shows how north or south it is in reference to the celestial equator. Thus the location of UY Scuti is 18h 27m 36.5334 and -12 ° 27` 58.866 .
