How long does a long distance relationship last in today's era?

Majority feel that long distance relations fails, but why? One of the main components of a successful relationships is proximity.. Conflict resolution is more important than others in long distance relations. We can maintain communication through phone, email, Skype etc. In most cases, this keeps the romance alive. When a conflict arises, however, it's more difficult to solve it because we don’t get the opportunity to observe and take care of other person’s intentions and behaviors.

We mostly judge, according to limited communication, land it’s uncomfortable to resolve everything via virtual media. So this makes the matters worse, making it difficult to solve the problem. If you have face difficulties in resolving conflicts before, then chances of solving them during long distances will be harder. Another important point is how long you have been in the relationship and how long was a period when you two were not in a long-distance mode.

If your relationship is few weeks or months old, then you have got less time to build mutual understanding before parting. Problems can arise and lead to misunderstandings in long distance. If such is the case, then see if there is some way you two can meet at some regular periods and keep communicating with each other.

It will depend on the couple who are in a long distance relationship. A lot of people say that they will be able to last for a long time but after a few months of not seeing each other, they already know that their relationship will not be effective. They do not know how the relationship will push through anymore.

There are some who are able to make it work until such time when they can finally be together for a long time. Most long-distance relationships can last for a year or more but most days, the relationship is rocky because the couple would need to respect and trust each other all the time. Admittedly, this is not always easy to do.
