Why does Neptune have less moons as compared to other outer planets?

Neptune is known to be one of the farthest planets from the sun. Its distance from earth may be one of the reasons why people do not know much about it. There is a possibility that this distance is also the reason why it has different moons from all the other planets in the solar system.

It has a lot of moons that seem to have different qualities. There are so many things that other planets have experienced in the past that Neptune did not experience. It has outer moons and inner moons that rotate around the planet. This planet does not have a lot of solids which may affect the number of moons that it has.
