It was in the year 1781 when Uranus was discovered for the first time by William Herschel. The interesting thing about this is that it was noticed with the use of the telescope. The other planets were discovered mainly because of having a sharp eye while looking at the sky. This looked different from all of the other stars that Herschel was studying.
Over time, he realized that like Earth, this is one planet that orbits around the sun. It was studied many times but it was only in the late 1980s when more details were found regarding the planet. Uranus is not as bright as the other planets and is also not as large as the gas giants. This made it hard to detect without a telescope.
