Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren was once a Republican. She was an active republican. Warren was an active Republican until 1996. She didn’t become a registered Democrat until the mid-1990's. Her legislation has earned praise within the progressive wing democratic party and rebukes from conservatives. Warren says her views began to change in the 1980's when she embarked on a crusade to eradicate consumer bankruptcy.
Her affiliation with Obama and his administration prepared her for her Democratic run for senator of Massachusetts. She used to be a Republican, and her decision to leave the Republican party was because she sensed the Republicans were responsible for ‘crooked capitalism.’
