The Last Samurai is a movie starring Tom Cruise. It was made in 2003. Tom Cruise plays Captain Nathan Algren who is fighting with the 7th Calvary Regiment. In Japan, he encounters several samuriai warriors. It was a very popular movie because the budget for producing the film was $140 million dollars and it made over four hundred and fifty million dollars in the theaters which shows how popular it was.
Prior to his movie in 2003, Tom Cruise was appearing in other dramas and one was based on true events and this one involves history too. The main reason why Tom Cruise is in the Last Samurai may be because of his experience in drama movies and that he has done historical movies too in the past.
