It depends what you mean by 'good'. You hve to consider what the risks and unpleasant working conditions are worth, in addition to the work itself. Can you put a price on what you would do the work for?
I can - there's no salary, even thousands, that would make me work down a mine. Many will feel the same way, so the better salaries that miners get over other labourers is rarely resented.
