Evolution is a gradual process of change and the study of comparative anatomy supports this change. Comparative anatomy shows that different structures in organisms show similarities in functions, this supports that that there was a gradual change in the body structure of the organisms to adapt to change over time.

Example of this is: The difference in beaks of birds, their beaks carryout similar functions though the beaks do not look alike.
