Netscape was one of the pioneers of internet browsing. However, the browser faced much rivalry from internet explorer which it was unable to sustain. Some unlucky statistics and some bad timing led to Netscape completely shutting off. Although, the struggle for survival did continue till early 2008, it was unlikely that the browser would ever regain the image it once had.
This is because, the audience really didn’t care which browser it used at the time as most were providing a similar experience. Most users decided to stay loyal to their core browsers which apple and Microsoft had indent in their systems. This shut off Netscape completely.
