My favourite character in the TV show This is Us is DR Krakowski. He is very human and humane, cracking jokes,but fiercely efficient at his job. He was Rebecca's obstetrician when she gave birth to the triplets. When one didn't survive, he comforted Jack and let him know of his own loss, a very touching moment in the show.
He helped Jack and Rebecca when Randall didn't want to breastfeed at the beginning. Altogether like a family friend. British citizens would find this amazing when their births are managed by people they haven't seen before and won't see again once the baby's safely delivered. And they're usually home the day after!
