Agriculture is the skill and science of cultivating the soil, producing crops, and raising livestock. It encompasses the preparation of plant and animal products for people to use and distribute in their markets. Agriculture supplies most of the world's food and fabrics. It enables people to produce surplus food. If all of it stopped, it would hit the consumers hard, and their diet would become less balanced, we would depend upon other countries for food.

Importing foods from other countries raises the prices of the commodities such as vegetable pulses and fruits. The raising of livestock would come to a halt, which would devalue land due to little grazing.
