There will need to be a huge investment of plug-in points if electric cars are going to rival the petrol, diesel and even hybrid car. Otherwise, there will be a constant problem with parked cars in the wrong place because they've run out of power. A trip to the fuel station has to be planned to a certain extent but once there, it doesn't take long to fill up.
An electric car takes ages to refuel and if in a queue for the existing point, conflict may follow. So far it seems that electric cars will cost much more, and because of the limited range of design, consumers are likely to be very dissatisfied with the choice available.
