Cooking brown rice is easy to learn how to cook. First, you put rice and water together in a pot with a lid, using the ratio 1.5 cups water to 1 cup rice. Set the heat to high and allow the rice and water to a boil uncovered. When the boiling begins put the lid on the pot and reduce the heat to low/simmer for 30 minutes, keeping the lid closed.
Turn the burner off and allow the rice to sit in the covered pot for about another ten minutes. If you prefer your rice slightly chewy, remove the lid after ten minutes of cooking.
