Hurricane Florence flooded the streets with torrential rain and a powerful storm surge. The hurricane's storm surge and the wall of water are pushed from the Atlantic overwhelmed the area. The center of the hurricane made landfall in North Carolina, which brought with its life-threatening storm surges and 145km/h winds.
Authorities said that more than sixty people, including many children and pets, had to be evacuated from the area. Many of the roads were blocked. Strong winds caused the roofs of houses to collapse. Florence caused most of North Carolina to be covered in several feet of water.
