The false ribs on this diagram are 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11. False ribs are last pair of ribs. These ribs don't attatch to the backbone, which is why they are given the name false. The ones that do connect to the backbone are known as true ribs. There are five pairs of false ribs in total.
The last two are known as floating or vertebral. They may also be referred to as fluctuating ribs. The top three pairs are connected to the coastal cartilages above them. Though they aren't conencted to the backbone, they are directly connected to the 7th rib.
