Shroud is a nickname. His real name is Michael Grzesiek. He is a Canadian and originally used the nickname eclipse. However, he left it shortly afterwards and renamed himself shroud. This was supposedly the first synonym of eclipse that he liked and se he took it for himself.
Since then he has been globally recognized as shroud and has played with professional teams. He then retired and now only live streams his games. He says it is much easier with far less stress and more freedom. He can travel as he wants, attend events as he please and go online as he likes rather than committing to a team.
