There are some people who are not sure if opossums would be dangerous to them. These are creatures that will not usually bother with humans. They may feel threatened and scared though especially when humans become too close. This is the time when they may attack or bite. There are moments when they would attack house pets more as compared to humans.
If you are scared about getting rabies, this is not something that you have to worry about with the opossum because it is rare that they acquire the disease from other animals. There are also some opossums that would do their best to avoid confrontation with humans so that they will be left alone.
