I do not think the aim of Batman day is to renew the fame of Batman. The celebration is put together by Detective Comic for Batman fans everywhere in the world to celebrate the superhero. However, Batman's fame gets renewed by the celebration. DC has been organizing this celebration for the past 5 years because they see the need to celebrate the love that people have for this character.
In conclusion, I strongly disagree that the purpose of Batman day is just a way to renew the fame of Batman.
