What is the history of Christianity?

Christianity is a religion that is one of the top five religions that is practiced in the world. However, it was not like that in ancient history. Instead, people got in trouble practicing a religion that was not very well-known in the world. By the time Jesus was born, religions were already being practiced. Then Jesus started teaching everyone who he came in contact with. People including Jesus were persecuted for this religion.

Over time, leaders became familiar with Christianity. Jesus was crucified for his beliefs and other followers were imprisoned and killed as well. Yet, leaders started to believe in Christianity and then they allowed their citizens to practice it. It became more popular and practiced to the point that it was legal to do that.
