Due to the principles of Burning Man, especially the matter out of place and the leaving no trace principle, a person’s dress or costume during Burning Man must be so that it does not leave anything behind to hurt the environment. For instance, if you wore something with glitter or feathers on it, then you can not be assured that the glitter or feathers would fall off and be left on the ground.
So, there really is not strict dress code, but you must be able to follow the principles. Another principle is civic responsibility which means that the participant must dress so that they do not violate the local, state or federal laws. Otherwise, you can wear whatever you would like.
