Usually, wild animals only attack for two reasons. One reason is that they feel threatened or they are hungry and need to kill their prey. Cheetahs obviously don’t kill humans so that they can make a meal out of them. However, they might attack if they saw a human wandering too close to where they are located or their babies are located.
Therefore, cheetahs might kill humans and have in the past because they feel threatened. Even if the humans are not threatening them, the cheetahs may still pounce and attack the humans based on their proximity to the animal. Since some cheetahs are found near walking trails, humans could come in contact with the cheetahs. So, beware of the trails you take.
