If you watch the previews or have seen the movie, you would know that it is based on a true story. The main event in the movie is true. Several historical facts especially the main ones are true. For instance, Israeli officers did conduct a search for Nazi leaders in Argentina and other South American countries.
Peter Malkin was one of those officers who went to Argentina and was a part of the team who was responsible for searching and capturing Adolf Eichmann who escaped Europe right after World War II so that he would not have to face persecution. Then Malkin wrote a book about his experiences. It was titled Eichmann in My Hands. It was considered a memoir of this part of his life.
