Most comic book movies are geared toward children because the characters are child-like or appeal to children. However, over time these movies have changed and they are more geared toward adults. Possibly older children that are in their mid-teens may be going to see this movie. Right now, it is stated that Venom is rated PG-13 which means that parental guidance is needed for those even after thirteen years old.
Also, only those older than 13 years old should see this with their parents. However, some believe the movie should receive an R rating, but it seems that this movie is too scary for younger children. I would not categorize this movie as a child-friendly movie because it is geared toward adults.
