The British East India Company is the company that was chartered by the Queen at that time, Queen Elizabeth I in order to make it possible for the British to trade with Asia. The main goal of the company at that time is to make a profit.

They know that they would also have the ability to acquire some goods that they do not have and to provide items for the people in Asia that they have in abundance. People have different views about this. Some feel that their main goal is to try to colonize India although this did not work exactly as they have planned. The answer to this question is C.
