Dictionary.com lists one definition of makeup as “the total ensemble of cosmetics, wigs, costumes, etc., used by an actor or other performer”. The list of items included with cosmetics sometimes includes items applied only to the face. Other lists of cosmetics includes the hair and body.
So basically, the list of what things makeup includes can be huge. A basic makeup kit will typically have items for face skin, eyes, lips, eyebrows and accessories to use to apply all the various items. If you add hair products to this list such as shampoos, conditioners, colorants, curl controls, frizz controls, straighteners, etc., the list is truly lengthy.
