Yes, I do think people should be fined for not recycling because there is simply no excuse for not doing it. I cannot imagine why someone would not want to recycle. It’s so easy to do and doesn’t cost anything and it’s so good for our earth.

The money collected can be used for so many good causes such as an educational campaign to teach people more about why it’s so important to recycle. Or the money from the fines could be used to purchase more local recycling bins. I also think fining people for not recycling may serve as a deterrent. It’s like getting a fine for speeding. You are a lot more likely to pay attention to the speed limits after you’ve gotten a speeding ticket.
