The Richter scale is a machine that is used in order to rate the magnitude of an earthquake. Through the scale, people will know the amount of energy that was released by the earthquake or how strong the earthquake was.

This is considered to be a logarithmic scale, which means that the number on the scale whenever it skips means that this is already a ten-fold increase. The higher the number on the Richter scale, the stronger the earthquake is.

The earthquake is a natural disaster that people cannot control, yet it happens whenever people least expect it. It would be stronger in the place where it has centered.
