Asian black bears are more aggressive toward humans than the other bears. The Himalayan black bear is a very combative animal. It will even attack without provocation and inflict horrible wounds. It generally strikes the head and face with their claws and they also use their teeth to attack their victim. It is not uncommon to see people mutilated by these bears.
Some people will even have their scalp torn from their head, and these bears have killed many sportsmen. When attacking humans, black bears will rear up on their hind legs and knock their victim over with their paws. Then, they make one or two bites on an arm or leg and finish with a snap on the head.
