D.B. Cooper is a media nickname popularly used to refer to an anonymous man who hijacked a Boeing 727 plane in the northwest United States. In November 1971, the suspect purchased his airline ticket using the alias Dan Cooper.
News media miscommunication led to him being known as D. B. Cooper. Cooper jumped out of the airplane after hijacking the plane, and he was never heard from again, except for the fact that in 1980, large sums of money were found by a little boy, which were linked directly to D.B. Cooper. The FBI has been investigating this case, and so far, no conclusions have been reached regarding his survival.
