What is a gondola?

It is a Venetian rowing boat, which is flat-bottomed. Gondola's are considered traditional boats and are best suited for Venetian lagoons. Often confused with canoes, gondola's are narrower. They were traditonally used as a consistent form of transportation in Venice.

It was also used as a form of Warcraft. Nowadays, it has become less popular but still used as ferries that go over the Grand Canal. There are three of these used for this purpose in Venice. Approximately 400 gondolas are licensed in Venice, and a number of them are from thousands of years ago.

Some may assume that it is like a canoe but it is a bit different.

For example, this comes with a roaring oar while a canoe would need to be pedaled manually. The gondola may be a type of boat that people use for entertainment right now but there was a time when this was used as the primary mode of transportation to get from one place to another.
