No player has died on the court while playing a tennis game. The closet death to this is that of Richard Wertheim who was an American tennis linesman. On 10th of September 1983, Stefan Edberg shot Richard on his groin.
He was immediately rushed to Flushing Hospital and medical center because he was unconscious after falling from his chair. Richard Wertheim died on 15th September 1983. His family later sued the United States Tennis Association.
