Japan is an interesting place. However, Japan does not copy American culture much. If anything, the opposite is true; America is copying Japanese popular culture (animes, Hello Kitty, etc.). For instance, in Japan, it is often seen as a good thing to be silent in business areas. In America, the louder and longer you talk, the better your chances of getting a new client.
That’s just one difference, but it gives an idea of how the Japanese culture is different from the American culture. Another difference that comes to mind is the way shoes are treated. In Japan, it is seen as rude to wear your shoes in someone else’s home. In America, some people will wear their shoes inside someone else’s house unless they are told they can take them off.
