Indians are still superstitious, yes. However, there is a wide gap between the superstitions still believed in India and what science has proven can be true. This said, that’s no reason to start discriminating because someone holds these beliefs.

Some common superstitions still believed today include that witches and witchcraft exist and are effective (studies show that between 2008 and 2013, about 768 women were killed for being accused of being a witch), that there are men on earth today with powers like gods (these men are called “godmen,” and many of the miracles are scientifically possible to do on earth, without supernatural help), and that soothsaying and astrology are reliable ways to predict the future. This last one has been debunked a few times, so I’ll leave it alone.
