As much as some people would love to believe that the concept of arranged marriages in India has become outdated and died in most places, it has not. It has proven to be rather flexible, as it is still being done today in India. However, it has greatly changed from the idea of a woman having absolutely no say in the man she married.

Today, many couples simply go through the arranged marriage process with a man or woman that they have become romantically involved with before the marriage. It is kind of a “best of both worlds” situation at this point. The arranged marriage is able to give the kind of blessings and profits to both families that it has been sustained for, and the couple is able to live happily knowing that they had quite a bit of say in who they married.
