Yes, I think Pokemon is not only still popular, it has gained in popularity. Pokemon started as an animated TV series in the United States in 1998. Since then many versions of Pokemon games have been released. There are currently over 100 Pokemon games for such platforms as Games Boy and Nintendo.

In fact, the Pokemon media franchise celebrated a 20-year anniversary in 2016. The Pokemon Go game was developed in 2016 for iOS and Android devices. And, in 2019 a role playing Pokemon game is supposed to be released in late 2019 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo’s newest game console.
