When you hear the word, “kangaroo,” your first thought might be Australia. According to some reports, the first kangaroo may have been spotted in South America but it has gone far and wide to reach Australia. The way that it has gotten its name is even stranger. A native aborigine was asked what the name of the animal was but the native did not understand the question so he answered “Kan-Ga-Roo.” This means, “I don’t understand.”
It would be safe to assume that the stranger thought that, that was the name of the animal. This is why we call the kangaroo as such. Take note that the color of the kangaroo may slightly vary depending on where it is found.
