The most popular wood has to be the mahogany ukulele.This is a type of hardwood that can produce the sound that the ukulele is known for. Koa wood is the type of wood normally used by the companies in Hawaii. If you would purchase from this country, expect that you will get a ukulele that is made out of Koa wood. There are different colors and grain patterns that are available to produce the sound that people want.
