Nitrogen is an important part of the human body. A human body contains 3% nitrogen in the form of organic molecules such as amino acids, nuclei acids, and more. Proteins are made from nitrogen-containing amino acids and are vital to keep “hair, muscles, skin and other important tissues” healthy.

DNA and RNA are made up of nitrogen-containing nucleic acids. Our DNA is what makes us who we are and distinguishes us from animals. Nitrogen compounds also play an important role in a human’s cardiovascular, immune, and central and peripheral nervous systems.
