Yes, illnesses can be passed from dogs to humans, but it is extremely rare. Most illnesses from dogs cannot be passed to humans. However, a few infections can be transmitted from pets to animals. These infections or diseases are known as zoonotic diseases. “Zoonotic” means transmitted from animals to humans.
