Yes, they do lack empathy. They feel that the most important thing in the world is to become successful. They would like to conquer the world in a true sense. They want power, they want high positions, and they will stop at nothing just to get to the position that they want. They see empathy as a sign of weakness so they will not feel empathic towards other people.

Take note that it is not only empathy that they lack. They may also not feel remorse and guilt whenever they do something wrong. This does not mean that they cannot fake those emotions though. They may pretend to be good when they know that it will be beneficial for them.
