A lot of violin bows are made of horsehair and are considered to be perfect for playing the violin mainly because they have the ability to sound great without hurting the rest of the strings. Some people use synthetic materials to replace the original bow hair and they usually notice that the sound is not exactly the same.

If you want to maintain the quality and the sound of your violin, it is best that you stick with the materials that are normally used. It will improve the way that you play too because you will be happier with the tone that the violin will be able to produce.
