Bullying can traumatize those who are bullied, affect those who bully, and those who observe bullying. Bullying is linked to many adverse outcomes including influence on mental health, substance use, and suicide. Kids who are tormented are more likely to encounter depression, changes in sleep and eating patterns, and loss of activities they used to enjoy.
Kids may also experience health complaints, decreased academic achievements, and school participation. Kids who bully others can also engage in violent and risky behaviors going into adulthood. Kids who bully are also often disruptive in school, and they tend to be defiant of authority.
