The guitar originally came from the Greeks, but the Spanish improved their model. The inventor of the modern acoustic guitar was Antonio Torres Jurado. He created the first model that resembles the guitars used today. The guitar had been known in the New World from as early as the Sixteenth Century when Spanish colonists sold guitars to the Aztecs.
Toward the 18th century, we saw the modern guitar. It wasn’t until the 20th century that the guitar fully reached it’s potential. The technological progress and development of mass media contributed to the global exposure of the instrument.
