There are still a lot of people who will argue about this based on the things that they know. I will answer this question based on my current knowledge. I think that it would depend on the case of the patient. There are some patients that are already into a deep mental health state that medications would work better for them.
No matter what therapists may say to the person, the person will not be able to absorb what the person is saying anymore. Medications can help improve the person’s mental state so that he will have the ability to listen. Therapy will be useful to those who are mildly depressed or are going through some rough times. Some of them are not required to take medications anymore.
This is something that a lot of people may debate about. In my opinion, I think that therapy is better than medication in curing mental illness. I believe that therapy will reach into a person’s mind. It will allow the person to remember why there is a need to break free from the mental illness.
A person who has realizations about his/her current situation will begin to help himself/herself. Once the patient has the will to get better, therapy will start to progress. The person will actually start getting better. There are times when medications are not needed at all.
