There are no reports that can be found about cameras that may suddenly explode. There are some reports, however, of phones that are equipped with camera features that can explode. It is not because of the camera feature that has caused the phones to explode.
Rather, it is because of the batteries that were used for these gadgets. This defect was immediately checked so that it will not happen again. The phones were asked to be returned so that they can be changed with other phones instead. If cameras would be placed in temperatures that are beyond what they can handle, they will not explode but they will definitely break down.
It is not the camera that explodes, but the batteries inserted in it. The type of batteries usually used in cameras today is made of lithium-ion. Lithium-ion batteries are used in today’s gadgets - smartphones, laptops, and digital cameras. They are very effective thus being used in almost in modern’s day tech gadgets.
Lithium-ion batteries could explode if there are short circuits in the internal electrical components of the gadgets they are installed in. It is also advised that do not overcharge and overuse your gadgets such as your cameras. These could lead to an explosion if the batteries get extremely hot and do not cool down properly.
