Passport photos are known to be as a proof of the person’s identity. This is a requirement for people to go to different land and countries. There was a time when creating a passport was easy. In fact, people can make fake passports of themselves with a fake name and a fake address. The very first passport only had a picture and a name.
It was in the year 1914 when there was a law that was created stating that aside from the photograph, there should also be a legal description of the person. The passport now is meant to protect people’s identities. It can be hard for different people from different countries to get their own passport especially if they do not have all of the documents that they are required to have.
Passports are issued to identify oneself that he or she is a resident of his or her land. This is used and required when traveling to a different country thus a photo is needed to identify yourself on the passport. Before, people can use any photo as long as they are in it. There were no descriptions just their name and a photo including them.
But since it was easy to fake and copy someone’s identity, it was in 1914 that an Act was passed to have a photography and personal description of the passport holder. Since then, passports have been improved to protect each person's identity.
