Rodger Federer is an iconic tennis player who has made his mark in the world. The superstar is known for his extraordinary skills, which has led him to win many matches. However, he is human too and there were certain bad matches in his career as well. For instance, in 2001, Federer played Jo Wilfrid Tsonga at Wimbledon with a two to nothing score.
However, he did turn the game around by conquering the three remaining sets. Then in the semifinals, he faced Novak Djokovic where Novak won the last three sets, winning the match. Although the player lost, the match was an iconic battle.
When it comes to Roger Federer it is hard to believe that he has ever had a bad match. The thing is that he is no different than anyone else. There are several bad performances that I can recall when it comes to the career of Roger Federer. His second round exit in 2013 at Wimbledon while being the defending champion is one that certainly recently comes to mind.
Speaking of Wimbledon there was the match from 2011 in which Federer had a two sets to nothing led over Jo Wilfrid Tsonga. The next three sets went to the wayside for Federer as Tsonga swept the last three framesand went on to win the match. The same thing would happen just a couple months later in 2011 at the United States Open.
Federer was taking on Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals. Federer jumped out to a two sets to love led on Djokovic only to see Novak win the last three in one of the classic battles between these two tennis greats. There are plenty of more bad performances in the career of Roger Federer and it goes to show that the best certainly have their off days as well.
