Wimbledon is full of dominating matches that served as tiebreakers and decision makers in the past. One dominating performance was of John McEnroe against Jimmy Connors in 1984 where he defeated Jimmy for the men’s title. The entire season was in favor of John as he dominated most of the matches.
He ended up defeating Jimmy with a score of 6-1 and 6-2, which was a very dominating win. The match went on for 80 minutes before it was up. McEnroe and many other people have said that it was the most dominating performance ever seen at Wimbledon matches to date.
The most dominating performance in the history of Wimbledon Championships in my opinion was from 1984 when John McEnroe defeated Jimmy Connors for the men's title. It was a year in which John McEnroe was dominant throughout the season. He was also dominant all throughout this Wimbledon fortnight.
In the finals that year, McEnroe defeated Connors by a score of 6-1, 6-1, and 6-2. It was a quickly played contest in which McEnroe was able to finish off Connors in about 80 minutes of time. At the time, the four games that McEnroe surrendered in the final were fewest in nearly 50 years.
McEnroe has said time and time again that the 1984 Wimbledon tournament and final was some of the best tennis that he ever played in his entire career. This was also a time when McEnroe was consistiently ranked number one in the world and was constantly ranked in the top five.
